Editor

Richard P. Hiskes is the senior political theorist in the University of Connecticut's Political Science department, and specializes in modern and contemporary political thought, especially as theory relates to contemporary political and environmental issues. His most recent work is in the areas of environmental ethics and human rights theory, and he is currently also the Director of the Human Rights Minor. His research in human rights has produced several published and forthcoming articles, including "Environmental Rights, Intergenerational Justice, and Reciprocity With the Future," Public Affairs Quarterly , July, 2005; "The Right to a Green Future," Human Rights Quarterly , November, 2005; and "Environmental Rights and Intergenerational Justice," forthcoming in Human Rights Review , January, 2006. He is the author of many other books and articles both in the history of political thought and in contemporary theory as it relates to policy issues. His most recent book is Democracy, Risk, and Community: Technological Hazards and the Evolution of Liberalism , Oxford, 1998.
